The tea came out just like the tea at the restaurant. I made a big batch, this way we can have tea whenever we want it. It was really easy to make and smelled wonderful while brewing. I bought the muslin strainer from amazon too, it cuts the need to double strain the tea.
I've been browsing amazon and other tea sellers for authentic restaurant style Thai Tea. This one is exactly what I was looking for.Amazing taste and extremely easy to make. Instructions that are provided show easy ways to make the tea, and the traditional long boil. However, in my morning rush, I simply use some of the tea in a coffee machine (1/2 tbsp per cup of water) and it comes out excellent with some cream and sugar.Definitely recommended.
I ordered this item on tuesday and received it on thursday. I've been searching for this tea for a while and glad I found it on here. I made it and it is absolutely wonderful. It taste just like the kind in the thai restaurants. I will be buying it from now on. Thank the Lawd.(logging of so I can do the happy dance:)
So it's not even the shipping that makes the price high. This tea is very close to what I've gotten in Thai restaurants, but the price is outrageous.especially after shipping. I bought this as well as the Pantainorasingh Thai Tea Mix on a quest to save money by making the things I like at home. It's good, but not enough to warrant paying the extra cost. I bought these two teas before venturing to my local Asian food market - stupid, I know. But when I got to the market, I found the price on thai mixes to be between $2.50-$4. And if you're looking to make Thai Iced Tea, don't follow the recipe on the label. I found a recipe online that works out very well - 6 cups water, 1 cup sugar (or splenda), 1 cup tea.
I bought this and the Thai Tea teabags, and this product is definitely better. It makes brewing this a breeze. It's stronger, has a better taste, and the color is beautiful. I recommend buying the muslin filter as well. I use a recipe by Emeril on Foodnetwork's website, and I use the muslin filter when I brew. It makes Thai tea just like I have in the restaurant.
